In 1992 we decided to get a family dog as our first pet after just getting married. So, we went to the local shelter and purchased a siberian/beagle mix. At the time, we didn't know anything about purebred dogs. Our dog's name was "Chandler." He was the funniest looking dog we have ever seen and we grew to love him very much. A little time later we became interested in learning about purebred Siberian Huskies so we went out and purchased our first purebred. Being new to the world of purebred dogs, we didn't know anything about the difference in quality of AKC registered dogs. Our first Siberian was by no means a show quality dog but a dog that became my best friend. Her name was "She-She". She was very neglected at the place we got her from and she was near death from starvation- but we had to save her. She and I bonded like we both needed each other to keep going. I had "She-She" for 9 years until she got killed in a car accident. I really miss her and I owe her my life for all the wonderful times we had spent together. She was always there to love me. She helped us to love and appreciate the Siberian Husky and how important they can be in our lives. Soon after purchasing her we got addicted to the breed, we tried to learn as much as we could about the breed and dog showing. It wasn't long before I was a natural at dog showing. To this day, no matter how bad I feel, I will be in the show ring with my best friend.
